Privacy Policy

Last updated 19 October 2026

Jollopot helps you decide what to cook, cook it step by step and keep track of your pantry. This policy explains what we collect in the Jollopot app and on jollopot.com, why, and the choices you have. We don't sell your data and we don't use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Without an account

You can use the app without signing in. Your profile, household, pantry, meal plan, shopping list and cook journal are then stored only on your phone. Photos you add of dishes or family members stay on your phone and are never uploaded.

What we collect

  • Account details when you sign in with Apple, Google or an email code: your email address and, if you share it, your first name.
  • Your kitchen, once you sign in, so it can back up and sync with your family: your preferences (region, household size, diet, allergies, foods you avoid, skill and spice level), the people you cook for (first name, age group, diet and allergies), pantry items, meal plans, shopping lists and cooking history.
  • Feedback board posts: what you post and your votes. Posts show your first name publicly.
  • App usage: which screens and features are used (for example, a recipe was started or a timer finished), tied to a random account ID, never your email. We use this to see what works and fix what doesn't.
  • Pro purchases made on jollopot.com: the plan, amount and date. Card and bank details are handled by our payment providers; we never see or store them.
  • Waitlist and email: if you join the waitlist or sign in, your email address, so we can send product updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Allergy and diet details are used only to warn you about recipes and suggest swaps. They are never used for advertising.

Who helps us run Jollopot

  • Supabase stores accounts and synced kitchens.
  • PostHog (EU servers) measures app usage. On the website it runs without cookies.
  • Loops sends our emails.
  • Paystack and Flutterwave process payments on jollopot.com.
  • Apple and Google handle sign-in when you choose them.

They process data only to provide their service to us. We share data with others only if the law requires it.

Your family

People in your household can see and change the shared pantry, plan, shopping list and the people you cook for. Only invite people you trust. Jollopot is not meant for children to use on their own; a parent or guardian should manage any details about children in the household.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while you have an account. To delete it, open the app and go to Me → Account → Delete account, or email olamilekan@jollopot.com. Deleting removes your account, your cloud backup, your feedback posts and your email contact. Kitchens you share with family are handed to another member rather than deleted. We may keep payment records where the law requires it. To clear what's on your phone, use Me → Erase data on this phone, or delete the app.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under Nigeria's NDPA, the UK GDPR and Canadian and US state laws), you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll reply within 30 days.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email. Questions: olamilekan@jollopot.com. See also our Terms of Use.
